Coneflower

Tuesday Match 29,2011

The Coneflowers are amazing flowers,  these flowers are used in many different kinds of medicine.  Coneflower roots are one of the best parts of the flower.  They are the best because they are used for kidney infection that keeps coming back,  also the roots are put into tea,  the tea helps cure mucus and  colds.  The flower isn't used as much as the flower but it is still very useful.  The Cornflowers are used for healing snakebites,  fevers, and old wounds.

If you are going to put any flower in your garden,   Coneflowers would be perfect.  Coneflowers are beautiful and colorful,  these brightly colored flowers will attract lots of butterflies.  Swallowtails and monarchs are just two of the many butterflies that love this flower.  The petals that grow on this plant come in different colors like: white, yellow, gold, orange and purple.  The spiky, seeded center of the flower is a money saver, like most plants this flower's seeds fall off, which you can plant next year.

Coneflowers can stand any kind of living condition, except grounds with heavy clay.  If you leave your plant standing in your garden through the winter it makes your snow covered garden look more interesting, also it's a great snack for birds like goldfinches.  You should give your plants lots of water so it can grow roots, and withstand the dry conditions in summer.  These flowers must grow in full sun, no shade in the daytime, so put them in a spot that gets sun all day.  The width of this plant is two feet, and the length is two-three feet.

I chose to write about this flower because it's beautiful and interesting.  I hope you like your flowers whether it's this flower or any other type of flower.  Enjoy your flowers, and if you do plant this pretty flower in your garden then I hope you enjoy your butterflies too.
