Penstemon

Wednesday April 6, 2011

Some flowers don't like growing in hot, dry areas, but not this flower.  The Penstemon flower will attract lots of hummingbirds.  This flower is known to be finicky, but it really needs is well-drained soil or red rocks to grow in.  Some of these flowers will tolerate a  little more moisture and humidity than other plants.  This flower must grow in full sun.

When planting these flowers you should aether not use any fertilizers or use just a little bit.  Remember not to use to much fertilizer or your plant will get weak and floppy.  Follow these simple rules and your beautifully growing flowers are sure to attract a lot of hummingbirds.

The flowers on this plant are a kind of cup shape, and there small.  Penstemon flowers in the Summer come in many different colors such as:Red, Pink, Purple, Yellow, and Orange.  Theses flowers might be small but there very beautiful.  I would definitely have these flowers in my home or garden, especially since I like hummingbirds

The reason I chose this flower is because it is a very beautiful flower.  I love learning about all the different things about flowers when I'm writing about them.  I hope you enjoy your flowers.
